The General Manager of Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTVC), Rita Kachollom Pam, alongside her management team, today welcomed the newly appointed Commissioner of Information, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya, and her entourage to the Corporation.
Accompanying the Commissioner were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategic Communication, Hon. Timothy Golu, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hon. Jonas Nanman. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize the Commissioner with the boards and agencies under her ministry and to foster collaboration for seamless growth and support.
In her remarks, the General Manager congratulated the Commissioner on her appointment and expressed gratitude to the Governor for his commitment to an inclusive government that empowers women. She provided an overview of the state of the Corporation at the time of her assumption of office, highlighting key achievements and ongoing challenges. She also expressed hope that the Commissioner would advocate for the Corporation’s needs at the government level. Assuring the Commissioner of her full cooperation, she pledged continued collaboration and support.
During the visit, the Commissioner was hosted at the FM studio before being taken on a tour of the Rayfield studio. The Director of Engineering, Engr. Yakubu Ashoms, guided the team through various sections of the facility, providing detailed explanations of their operations.
Commending the Corporation’s remarkable progress, the Commissioner lauded the efforts of the General Manager and her team. Hon. Timothy Golu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategic Communication, also expressed his admiration for the strides made under the General Manager’s leadership.
The visit was both productive and insightful, opening doors for future collaboration and growth. The Commissioner signed the visitors’ book before concluding the tour with a group photograph.
